Shipping container computer labs and the $100,000 computer plan.

The above link talks about how LauchPad setup computer labs equipped with solar panels in South Africa as computer labs for students.
As you know I and my team are always on the phone, scouring the internet, and researching ideas. This idea is a great way to help connect Gonave to the world.
It will take a few different programs to get this started. First the plan.
Plan
Create some 50 different computer labs throughout the island of Gonave. Which will use shipping containers as the computer lab. Each lab will contain two shipping containers connected to have a total of 20 different computer stations (10 per container). The labs will be powered by solar panels on the top of each building. These labs will either use Netbooks, full size desktop computers, laptops, or Tablet PC's. With over 50 computer labs with 20 different computers in each lab, some 1,000 PC's will be able to connect Gonave to the world. Also the containers will have small library where books can be read as well.
Cost
The containers would have to be a different campaign, along with the books, solar panels, and computers. Total, the project to completely build out could cost $300,000. The computers can be purchased for about $100,000. In fact there is a Nobis Tablet PC that includes a keyboard which can be purchased for under $100 each. Shipping containers are around $1,000 to $1,500 per container. Book can be donated to the project. So total build out of system would be $300,000 on the low end to $500,000 on the high end.
Build out
Our initial commitment would be to build 2 such facilities initially, which would cost around $20,000 full build out including shipping and installment of all hardware. So this allows some 40 computers that will be available to the public to use free of charge. Obviously one facility would be in the Focus City, and the other some place on the island. We could possibly change the model to have just single containers which will allow for 4 different locations for these facilities.
