New business interested in locating to Gonave.

I first want to say, I appreciate all the interest in Gonave, and our team at Let's Build Gonave, Haiti, have put on a strong force to show the world Gonave.  While we haven't put a large amount of resources to Gonave yet, we have been doing a large amount of behind the scenes work, and also working with Haitian officials before anything can take place.

I also appreciate all the new folks who subscribe to our Google + page, which allows them to get updates instantly when we create a new blog post.  Also those who have went to the Gonave Government Portal, I appreciate you as well.  In fact most of the business inquiries have come from companies that visit that web page.

I was contacted a few days ago from a company called "Coffee Cubes Limited".  Their idea is to put up coffee shops where folks on the go can either drive up or walk up.  Their business model is very simple.  They get these small storage units that have windows in them, and serve coffee.  Usually the hostess are either in swimsuits or casual wear.  Now these places are numerous in places like Everett, WA, and are controversial.  Many times these stands are a front for prostitution, or lewd acts.  By lewd, usually the women flash, or show their breast for tips.  NOT ALL of these establishments are like this at all, however a small few makes the industry look bad.

Nonetheless, I was assured by the company that they are very professional, and that no such illegal activities or violations of eventual SAR laws would transpire.

These are what these stands typically look like.  I was told by Coffee Cubes LTD that these stands would only exist if there was either a sizable tourist flow of several hundred people per week to the island, or if their projections show that the local population would be able to buy some 20 gallons of coffee per week.

I told them that I will review their business proposal, and that the Special Administrative Region of Gonave is not yet established, but that they are not the only business that has expressed interest to locate on the island.

This is good news!  By having this site as well as the Gonave Government site, we are attracting world wide attention.  There is another company that contacted me about them bringing carsharing to Gonave.  They feel that Gonave has the right conditions for this to exist.  I was asked to provide very little details, and not to mention their company name, type of cars, etc.  Obviously they have conditions such as needing a certain number of miles of paved roadway before locating to Gonave, but again just getting the attention is a good thing.

Go Gonave!
